Corey Oswalt Earns Win on Thursday
6 years agoNew York Mets right-hander Corey Oswalt defeated the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday in the first game of a doubleheader. It was Oswalt's second win of the season. The righty went six innings, allowing four runs on nine hits to go along with two strikeouts. It wasn't the most impressive stat line, but Oswalt was backed by the Mets' 24 runs in an absolute blowout victory. Mets manager Mickey Callaway said he will continue to send Oswalt to the mound as long as he is pitching effectively. Expect to see Oswalt back out there sometime next week.
