2 years agoThe NASCAR Cup Series practice session was short and sweet and plagued with a few wrecks on Saturday morning, but that didn't stop Corey Lajoie from showing some surprising speed during it. In addition to posting the 13th-fastest single lap of the session at 22.958 seconds (156.808 mph), Lajoie also had the best 5-lap average of anyone. Typically Lajoie and his #7 Chevrolet ranks somewhere in the mid-20s at best in that category. In last year's race here at Dover, Lajoie finished a career-best 18th, and if his practice speed translates well to the race on Sunday, he very well could be able to replicate that. Lajoie will start from 27th when the Wurth 400 goes green.--Jordan McAbee
