Corey Knebel Records Sixth Save On Wednesday
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies pitcher Corey Knebel struck out two over 1 1/3 innings to earn the save during Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Seattle Mariners. In the eighth inning, he entered Wednesday's contest to protect a two-run lead. With the game-tying run on base, the Phillies right-hander struck out Jesse Winker to end the eighth inning. He returned to the mound in the ninth frame and threw a perfect inning to notch his sixth save of the season. The 30-year-old is the team's primary closer and is 6-for-7 in save opportunities. Knebel has been one of fantasy baseball's most reliable relievers in 2022, posting a 2.70 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and 14 strikeouts over 13 1/3 innings.
