Corey Kluber Scheduled For First Rehab Start On Thursday
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Corey Kluber (shoulder) is slated to make his first rehab start with Double-A Somerset on Thursday. Kluber was able to toss 42 pitches in a simulated game on Saturday, throwing his fastball, cutter, and slider without any problems- though the veteran hurler appeared to tire towards the end of the session. Given how long Kluber has been sidelined, he's likely to require several rehab starts, though a late-August, early-September return seems to be in the cards. The veteran righty was an effective fantasy starter for New York, pitching to a 3.04 ERA with a 25 percent strikeout rate in 53 1/3 innings.
