Corey Conners Making Third Consecutive Start At Kapalua
3 months agoAt this point, it feels safe to regard Corey Conners as one of the premier ball strikers on the PGA Tour. He finished 2024 ranked third in strokes gained on approach (+0.776) and 10th in strokes gained tee to green (+1.130). He still has much to improve on in the short game and putting department though, as he ranked outside the top 120 in both strokes gained metrics, and those same issues have notoriously been the cause for his struggle at this event in four total starts with a T18 as the highest finish. Given how well he played to close out last year, he may likely garner some attention this week from DFS players which may not be the best of ventures. At $10,800 on FanDuel, looking elsewhere this week is the safest move.

Corey Conners Looking To Build Off Strong Finish At The Arnold Palmer
7 days agoCorey Conners was in the hunt on Sunday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, but despite not registering any bogeys, he was unable to gain ground on the leaders, managing just one birdie on the day. He now looks to carry that momentum into THE PLAYERS Championship, an event he has competed in five times, making the cut in four of those appearances, including a T13 finish here last year. To replicate that success at TPC Sawgrass, Conners will need to be solid from tee to green, where he currently ranks 90th on tour, averaging 0.159 strokes gained per round. He has also been impressive off the tee, ranking 39th in driving accuracy and 61st in strokes gained off the tee (0.233 per round). Additionally, over the last 12 months, Conners ranks in the 83rd percentile in proximity from 100-150 yards, a range that accounted for 32.3% of all approach shots here last year. At $7,900 on DraftKings, fantasy managers can confidently rely on Conners in their lineups once again.

Corey Conners Continues Playing Well Heading To Arnold Palmer Invitational
2 weeks agoCorey Conners finished tied for 24th at the Genesis Invitational last month and is now focusing on preparing for this week's Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Club. He has missed only one cut in 2025 and has historically performed well at this tournament, finishing tied for 18th in 2024 and tied for 21st in 2023. It's important to note that at last year's Arnold Palmer Invitational, over 35% of approach shots came from distances of 150-200 yards. Over the past 12 months, Conners has ranked in the 99th percentile for approach shots from that distance in the fairway. Given this performance, he could be a solid addition to DFS lineups this week.

Corey Conners A Scary Play At Torrey Pines
1 month agoSince his T5 at The Sentry, things have been ugly--primarily on the greens--for Corey Conners. The Canadian has lost over 11 strokes putting over his last three contests, and his record in four events played at Torrey Pines isn't much different. The ball striking remains strong, but bleeding that many shots away with the flat stick is impossible to overcome. Things tend to get much brighter for the 33-year-old once he returns to the more predictable weather in Florida and beyond, so it is probably best to hold off on finding places in lineups until then.

Corey Conners A Boom-Or-Bust Option At WM Phoenix Open
1 month agoCorey Conners had a strong start to 2025 with a T5 finish at The Sentry but has since struggled, missing the cut at the Sony Open and finishing T65 at Pebble Beach. He now turns his attention to the WM Phoenix Open, an event he has played five times. He has never missed a cut here but has only finished in the top 20 once. The course rewards good drivers of the golf ball, and while Conners ranks 93rd in total driving, his strengths lie in accuracy (12th in driving accuracy). However, his driving distance (178th) remains a concern. Conners excels in his approach game, ranking in the 94th percentile from 150-200 yards, a distance that accounts for 42.6% of all approach shots at TPC Scottsdale. At $9,700 at DraftKings, fantasy managers should weigh the pros and cons of Conners before adding him to their lineups.
