Corey Clement Outperforming Devontae Booker
3 years agoNew York Giants running back Corey Clement has stood out ahead of Devontae Booker in training camp. "Clement has had a spring in his step early in camp," per Pat Leonard of the NY Daily News. "He has stood out ahead of Booker, the veteran the Giants paid to be Barkley's primary backup." Booker signed a two-year deal worth $5.5 million with the Giants during the offseason. The 29-year-old is expected to be the backup running back behind star Saquon Barkley but faces competition from former Philadelphia Eagle Corey Clement. New York also re-signed veteran Alfred Morris to compete for a spot on the RB depth chart. Booker logged 93 carries for 423 yards while also adding 17 catches for 84 yards and three touchdowns with the Raiders in 2020. Clement is carving out a role in the Giants backfield, but fantasy managers should target Booker as Barkley's primary backup in upcoming fantasy drafts.
