Cordarrelle Patterson Faces Tough Matchup
2 years agoAtlanta Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson has lost his lead role over the past few weeks. Since the team's Week 14 bye, the veteran running back has averaged only 10.3 rushing attempts per game. However, he has averaged 10.9 half-point PPR fantasy points per game over the past three weeks, thanks to an uptick in targets and touchdowns. Patterson has two touchdowns over the past three weeks, plus eight receptions. Last week, the veteran running back had six receptions against the Arizona Cardinals, the most on the team. This week he faces the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The NFC South division winners have held running backs to only 17 fantasy points per game this season, the sixth-fewest in the NFL. While Patterson didn't play in the Week 5 matchup between these two teams, the Buccaneers held the Atlanta backfield to only 3.8 yards per rushing attempt.
