Corbin Carroll Walks It Off Against Colorado
1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll went 1-for-5 with two RBI and a strikeout in a 5-4 win over the Colorado Rockies on Thursday. Carroll was hitless in the contest until the bottom of the ninth inning when he came up clutch for the D-Backs. Arizona was facing a one-run deficit with two runners on and two out when Carroll stepped in to face Rockies closer Pierce Johnson. He then roped a single into shallow left field to score Gabriel Moreno and Ketel Marte and give the D-Backs a 5-4 victory. The 22-year-old rookie has been hot over his last 15 games, batting .309 with a 1.015 OPS. For the season, Carroll is slashing .287/.372/.511 with nine home runs, 24 RBI, and 16 stolen bases over 188 at-bats.
