Corbin Burnes Strikes Out 10 Over Eight Shutout Innings On Thursday
1 year agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes earned the win on Thursday when he fired eight shutout innings with 10 strikeouts and one walk in a 4-0 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies. Burnes was brilliant in this one, limiting the Phillies to just three base runners (two hits and one walk) over his eight shutout innings. He's now struck out 10 or more batters in back-to-back turns and has picked up four straight quality starts. After scuffling in the earlier part of the season, Burnes' recent hot streak has lowered his ERA to 3.49 to go along with a 1.06 WHIP and 125:42 K/BB ratio over 121 1/3 innings (20 starts). He'll carry his 9-5 record into his next start against the Cincinnati Reds at home.
