2 months agoAmerican League All-Star coach Bruce Bochy announced Monday that Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Corbin Burnes will have the honor of starting the 2024 Mid-Summer Classic for his team. When asked about his decision to start Burnes, Bochy said, "He's had an incredible career. This is his fourth consecutive All-Star Game... It's his time to start an All-Star Game." The 29-year-old has pitched like the ace the O's were looking for, going 9-4 with a 2.43 ERA, a 1.04 WHIP, and a 23.3% strikeout rate in 19 starts and 118 2/3 innings pitched. This is the second consecutive season that his strikeout numbers have dipped, but fantasy managers can't argue with 15 quality starts in 19 starts this season with everything else being so consistent.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
