Corbin Burnes Knocked Around By The White Sox On Friday
1 year agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes took a no-decision on Friday when he surrendered five earned runs on eight hits with three walks and five strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a 7-6 win over the Chicago White Sox in extra-innings. Burnes was not sharp in this outing, allowing runs in the first, third, and fourth innings. Eloy Jimenez tagged him for a two-run blast in the bottom of the third inning and he issues three free passes. However, prior to Friday's subpar outing, Burnes had notched seven straight quality starts to the tune of a 2.00 ERA, 0.75 WHIP, and 52:17 K/BB ratio over 45 innings since July 1, so this was a rare off night for the 28-year-old. Overall, he owns a 3.60 ERA, 1.083 WHIP, and 146:53 K/BB ratio over 145 innings on the year. He'll look to bounce back in his next turn when he faces the Dodgers on the road in a tough matchup.
