Cooper Rush Throws Two Touchdown Passes On Saturday
3 years agoDallas Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush threw two touchdowns in Saturday's preseason loss to the Houston Texans. Rush completed 10 of his 12 pass attempts for 97 yards and the two touchdowns, also contributing seven yards on the ground on his lone rushing attempt. Rush's scores went to Cedrick Wilson and Tony Pollard, and he was the only Cowboys quarterback to appear even remotely competent in this one. He's currently competing with Ben DiNucci and Garrett Gilbert for backup duties behind starter Dak Prescott. Throughout camp, Gilbert has been the one talked about as the likely clipboard holder, but this was a good performance by Rush (paired with an awful one by DiNucci) and could create some more second-string competition before final rosters are announced.
