Cooper Rush Leads The Cowboys To A Week 2 Victory
Cooper Rush led the Cowboys to a 20-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2. Rush, playing in place of Dak Prescott (hand), did well leading the offense, completing 19 of his 31 passes for 235 yards and a touchdown. Rush didn't have a legendary game by any means, but he played mistake-free football and let the Cowboys play makers make plays. Dallas will take on the division-rival New York Giants in Week 3, where Rush will be a Super Flex option.

Trey Lance To Start Over Cooper Rush In Week 18
Trey Lance will start against the Washington Commanders in Week 18, according to insider Patrik Walker. Cooper Rush, who tallied 1,844 yards, 12 touchdowns, and five interceptions while filling in for Dak Prescott (hamstring), heads to the bench for Sunday's season finale. This move is not a reflection of Rush's performance but rather gives the Cowboys an opportunity to get extra game film on Lance as they continue to evaluate the quarterback position going forward. Both Rush and Lance are free agents in March, and it's likely that Dallas will only keep one (or zero) of them as Prescott's backup in 2025. In the short-term, Lance, a former No. 3 overall pick, gets a chance to showcase his talents against a Commanders team that intends to play all of its starters. The ex-49er has just 22 passing yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception through limited action in 2024. He ranks as a mid-to-high QB3 in Week 18 with some extra upside thanks to his rushing ability.

Cooper Rush Expected To Start In Week 18
Cooper Rush is expected to start, but backup quarterback Trey Lance is expected to see "significant snaps" in the Week 18 matchup against the Washington Commanders. With the likely split at the quarterback position, neither player is worth starting in any format for fantasy purposes in the season's finale. Rush is an unrestricted free agent following this season, so there is a chance that this is his final game in a Cowboys' uniform.

Cooper Rush Inefficient In Blowout Loss
Cooper Rush struggled to get going in Sunday's 41-7 blowout loss against Philadelphia. Rush completed 15-of-28 passes for 147 yards, tossing a touchdown and two interceptions on the day. He also rushed once for a two-yard gain. The career backup has been up-and-down since replacing Dak Prescott (hamstring) in Week 9, with this week's showing being one of his lowest points. Rush will start one final time in Week 18 against the Washington Commanders.

Cooper Rush Is Off Fantasy Radar For Week 17
Cooper Rush has had an up-and-down season, typically stringing together stronger performances against weaker defenses. Philadelphia boasts the eighth-strongest defense against opposing quarterbacks fantasy-wise, making a tough matchup for the career backup. To make matters worse, CeeDee Lamb (shoulder) has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. Rush will now rely on a makeshift receiver room of Jake Ferguson, Brandin Cooks, and Jalen Tolbert against one of the best secondaries in the league. Look elsewhere for quarterback production during fantasy championship week.
