Miami Marlins infielder Connor Norby kept on hitting on Saturday, going 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in a 9-5 win over the Phillies. He's now collected at least one hit in 16 of 17 games since the Marlins called him up, posting a .319-4-9-16-2 line over that stretch. If there's something to be concerned about it is the high strikeout rate (33.0%) and below-average walk rate (4.7%) on the season between Baltimore and Miami, but that can be expected from a 24-year-old making his major league debut. Plus, he's marginally improved both during his time with the Marlins. Regardless, the former second-round draft pick looks like the real deal and should prove to be a solid contributor for the remainder of this season.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBaller

Miami Marlins infielder Connor Norby went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Seattle Mariners. He added a double, a single, and two runs scored. The 24-year-old knocked in all three runs in one swing with a three-run blast -- his first homer and RBIs of the season -- in the top of the eighth inning to bring Miami within one, but it was the last runs they'd muster in the contest. Norby is swinging a hot bat since returning from the injured list, notching at least one hit in six of nine games with two three-hit efforts. He's striking out at an undesirable 34.3% clip and has yet to draw a walk, but holds a .303 average and is already one off of his stolen base total from last season in 145 fewer at-bats.--Alex Ciulla

The Miami Marlins announced on Thursday that they reinstated infield prospect Connor Norby (oblique) from the 10-day injured list and optioned infielder Graham Pauley to Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move. Norby is making the start at third base and is batting second in his 2025 debut against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks and left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez. The 24-year-old suffered a left-oblique strain at the end of spring training, which kept him out for the first couple weeks of the regular season. But now that he's healthy, Norby will settle in as Miami's starting third baseman, and he could be valuable in mixed fantasy leagues for his power. He went 4-for-8 with a home run in three rehab games with Jacksonville. The former second-rounder made his big-league debut last year with the Orioles and Marlins ad hit nine home runs in only 45 games played.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Miami Marlins third base prospect Connor Norby (oblique) will start a minor-league rehab assignment on Saturday, according to MLB.com's Christina De Nicola. It's unclear where Norby will be playing or how long he might be on his rehab assignment, but it's notable progress for a player that hasn't seen game action since suffering a left-oblique strain in late March during spring training. When the 24-year-old is cleared on his rehab assignment, he's expected to be called up to the big leagues to serve as Miami's starting third baseman. The former second-rounder of the Baltimore Orioles in 2021 out of East Carolina hit .247/.315/.445 with seven homers and 17 RBI in 36 games for the Fish last year after being acquired in a trade with Baltimore. Strikeouts could be an issue, but Norby showed enough power/speed in the minors to be worth looking at in mixed fantasy leagues when he returns to the majors.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Miami Marlins third base prospect Connor Norby (oblique) is progressing in his baseball activities as he recovers from a left-oblique strain, according to Fish On First's Kevin Barral. Norby is progressing, but it's unclear exactly what he's doing, and he will probably remain on the injured list through at least mid-April. When the 24-year-old former second-round pick of the Baltimore Orioles in 2021 out of East Carolina University is finally ready to make his 2025 debut, he's expected to join the big-league roster and see plenty of playing time at the hot corner in Miami. In 36 games for the Marlins after they acquired him from the O's last year, Norby went 36-for-146 (.247) with seven home runs, 17 RBI and three steals. He was inconsistent, but the power/speed combination is clearly evident after he hit 26 homers and stole 16 bases in the majors and minors in 2024. Norby can provide plenty of power and speed but won't help your batting average.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
