5 years agoEdmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid will be out of action for the next two to three weeks after being diagnosed with a left quadriceps injury on Tuesday. The generational talent sustained the injury in his team's 3-2 defeat of the Nashville Predators on Saturday after being hit by defenseman Dante Fabbro in the second period. While McDavid is set to miss a crucial stretch for fantasy owners gearing up for the playoffs, it does appear that the 23-year-old should be ready to roll once most fantasy playoffs begin. McDavid has posted 81 points (30 goals, 51 assists), 37 power-play points and 180 shots on goal in 55 games played in 2019-2020. Expect the Oilers to rely on forward Leon Draisaitl to shoulder the load while McDavid is out.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller

2 months agoEdmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid has received a three-game suspension. The Oilers superstar must sit out the next few games for cross-checking Vancouver forward Conor Garland to the head during Saturday's 3-2 loss. This is the second suspension of McDavid's career. McDavid will be eligible to return to the lineup on Jan. 27 versus Seattle. Until then, Leon Draisaitl will take over first-line center duties, with Kasperi Kapanen likely filling the open spot in the lineup. Edmonton will play its first game without McDavid on Tuesday at home against Washington.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Over his previous five contests, he has tallied eight points (four goals, four helpers) with 17 shots on goal. Through 41 total games, he has scored 19 goals and tallied 43 assists. 19 of his points have come on the power-play. 2 months agoEdmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid found the back of the net in Monday's victory over the Los Angeles Kings. McDavid's snap shot goal in the second period was the only goal of the evening as Stuart Skinner blanked the Kings. McDavid beat Los Angeles netminder Darcy Kuemper. McDavid also tallied five shots, two hits, and a block in this contest. This was McDavid's second goal over his past six games and his fifth total point over this stretch. Before this modest stretch, the 28-year-old was riding an impressive 12-game point streak. McDavid tallied 23 points (3 goals, 20 helpers) during this stretch, including eight total power-play assists. Despite his underwhelming production over the past week, McDavid remains a must-start in all formats and a top play in DFS.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
