4 years agoEdmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid produced a goal and added a primary assist in his team's 4-3 defeat of the Montreal Canadiens on Monday. The 24-year-old, who joined the century club with 100 points on Saturday, kept his momentum going in this one - also adding three shots, one hit and four takeaways in 19:07 of ice time in the contest. McDavid should be a nearly unanimous winner of the Hart Trophy as the NHL's MVP this season as he's now posted 102 points (33 goals, 69 assists), a plus-25 rating, 36 power-play points and 195 shots on goal in 54 games in 2020-2021. He still has two more games on the campaign to add to his point totals - with the Canadiens up again on Wednesday.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller

3 days agoEdmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid tallied a helper on all four of Edmonton's goals during their 4-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Friday evening. In the opening frame, McDavid would add two primary helpers, with one of them coming on the power play. Later in the third, he would tally his third helper of the game and second on the power play. He would conclude his evening by tacking on the secondary assist on Connor Brown's empty-netter. Since returning from his lower-body injury, McDavid has tallied seven points (all helpers) over his last two games. Over his last 15 contests, McDavid has found the back of the net just four times but has tallied an impressive 22 helpers. The 28-year-old remains a top lineup anchor in DFS over the final week of the season.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

5 days agoEdmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid (lower body) recorded three assists in a surprising return to the lineup during Wednesday's 4-3 victory over the St. Louis Blues. Pregame reports indicated that McDavid would remain sidelined for the matchup, but he made an unexpected comeback after an eight-game absence. The Oilers captain became the seventh player in NHL history to record at least five consecutive seasons with 65 or more assists. Despite missing more than two weeks of action, McDavid is currently tied for sixth in scoring with 93 points (26 goals, 67 assists) in 64 games. He has made it onto the score sheet in each of his last 14 appearances and aims to secure his fifth consecutive 100-point campaign in the final stretch of the regular season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

3 weeks agoEdmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid (lower body) is not expected to return to the lineup this week. After missing Saturday's matchup against the Seattle Kraken, McDavid will likely sit out at least three more games. With Leon Draisaitl (undisclosed) also unavailable, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins shined as the top-line center in Saturday's game, netting his fourth career hat trick in a 5-4 win. This marks Nugent-Hopkins' third three-point performance in the last four games. He will continue to have additional fantasy value until McDavid and Draisaitl return.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

3 weeks agoEdmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid (lower body) is undergoing an MRI on Friday and will not suit up on Saturday evening when the Oilers face the Seattle Kraken. McDavid sustained this injury during their contest on Thursday evening. Before departing the game, McDavid tallied one helper, which extended his point streak to 13 games. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he could be in danger of facing an extended absence. During this 13-game stretch, the 28-year-old has found the back of the net four times and added 15 helpers. In addition, No. 2 center Leon Draisaitl (undisclosed) will also not suit up. As a result, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will likely be deployed as the top center for the time being and play alongside Zach Hyman and Jeff Skinner on the top forward line.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
