Connor Hellebuyck Posts Second Shutout On Saturday
6 years agoWinnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck picked up his 32nd victory of the season on Saturday, shutting the visiting Nashville Predators out 5-0. The 35-year-old shut the door on all 33 shots faced in the contest and despite not recording a single shutout in his first 54 starts of the season, now has two clean sheets in his past three games this week. This week's strong performances in net has helped improved his season-long numbers to a 2.87 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage in 57 starts on the campaign. Following a Vezina-nominee season in 2017-2018, Hellebuyck likely hasn't been able to return the value expected from fantasy owners who took him in drafts this past fall, but his strong play of late should help raise his stock heading into next season. With a friendly matchup against the Stars (29th in goals for) on Monday, fantasy owners should continue to ride Hellebuyck's hot streak while they can.
