Connor Dewar Selected 92nd Overall By Minnesota Wild
6 years agoIn his second year of draft eligibility, the Minnesota Wild welcomed Everett Silvertips center Connor Dewar to the organization. The selection was their third of the third round. Dewar has now completed three seasons in the WHL, bettering his totals year after year. The 2017-18 season was by far his most productive, netting a career high line of 38 goals and 30 assists in 68 games. He also helped his team to a WHL final, scoring 12 goals and 26 points in 22 postseason games, good for second in both categories on the team. Minnesota brass were high on this center’s goal scoring abilities, but more so his character, citing his “engine” and “high compete level.” At 5-foot-10, 170 pounds, Dewar is undersized, especially given he’s a year older than most draft prospects this season. He will be eligible to play in the AHL in the 2019-20 season.
