Commanders Will Not Bring Back Kyle Allen
3 years agoThe Washington Commanders will not be offering a tender contract to restricted free-agent quarterback Kyle Allen, according to Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post. As a result, Allen will become an unrestricted free agent and he will be free to sign with any team next week. The Commanders just acquired Carson Wentz from the Indianapolis Colts, and Wentz will be the team's new starting quarterback. As of now, Taylor Heinicke is the only other quarterback the team has signed for next year. We should see the Commanders add another quarterback via free agency or in the upcoming draft to serve as their No. 3 quarterback, or even compete with Heinicke for a backup role.
