Colson Montgomery Snaps Skid With Home Run
1 day agoChicago White Sox shortstop prospect Colson Montgomery was able to snap his skid with a two-hit outing on Sunday afternoon. Montgomery hit his second long ball of the Triple-A regular season in this outing, which was his first since the season opener. Over his last 11 games leading up to Sunday, Montgomery posted an underwhelming .075/.178/.075 slash line with just three total hits (all singles) and one RBI. Montgomery will look to carry Sunday's momentum into the next week. The former 22nd overall pick was competing for a spot on the Opening Day roster during spring training but fell just short in the competition. Last season, he spent the entire campaign with Triple-A Charlotte and held a modest .214/.329/.381 line. If he continues to improve with Triple-A, he could push for a midseason MLB debut.
