Collin Snider Designated For Assignment
10 months agoThe Arizona Diamondbacks designated right-hander Collin Snider for assignment on Tuesday to make room on the 40-man roster for recently signed outfielder/designated hitter Joc Pederson. The D-backs picked Snider up off waivers from the Kansas City Royals last month, but the 28-year-old could be on the move again. He made his major-league debut in 2022 with the Royals and has a 5.93 ERA (5.03 FIP), 1.68 WHIP, one save, 28 walks and 33 strikeouts in 54 2/3 innings over 62 appearances (one start) in his two big-league seasons. In 20 1/3 innings pitched in 2023, Snider allowed 12 runs (11 earned) on 24 hits (three homers allowed) while walking 13 and striking out 11. He'll operate as organizational relief depth with whatever team he's with heading into spring training in 2024.
