Collin Morikawa Poised For Another Strong Performance At TPC Sawgrass
10 hours agoCollin Morikawa held a 54-hole lead at the Arnold Palmer Invitational but ultimately carded a 72 on Sunday, settling for his second runner-up finish of the year. He now shifts his focus to The PLAYERS Championship, an event he has competed in four times, making the cut three times and finishing as high as T13 in 2023. To succeed at TPC Sawgrass, players need to excel from tee to green, with particular emphasis on accuracy off the tee and on approach. Morikawa ranks second on tour in strokes gained from tee to green (1.341 per round), fifth in driving accuracy, and 10th in strokes gained on approach (0.908 per round). He also ranks in the 96th percentile for proximity from 100-150 yards, a range that accounted for 32.3% of all approach shots at Sawgrass last year. He's also in the 94th percentile for proximity from 150-200 yards, which made up 30.0% of approach shots. With a victory feeling imminent, fantasy managers should have no hesitation using Morikawa in their lineups, even at his $10,500 price tag on DraftKings.
