Collin McHugh To Start As Opener In Game 4
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Collin McHugh will be the team's starter for Game 4 of the ALDS against the Boston Red Sox on Monday. As usual, he will serve as an opener for the contest before giving way to a bullpen game. McHugh has pitched once so far this series. He came on in relief of starter Shane Baz in Game 2 and went on to surrender two hits, one walk and three earned runs over 1 2/3 innings. The 34-year-old right-hander was one of the team's most dominant pitchers this year, so it's no surprise they are turning to him in Game 4. Over 37 appearances during the regular season, he went 6-1 with a 1.55 ERA, a 0.94 WHIP and a 30% strikeout rate.
