Collin McHugh Converts First Save
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Collin McHugh struck out one across a perfect 1 2/3 innings to earn the save during Saturday's 8-4 win over the Chicago White Sox. He entered the game in the eighth inning and retired all five batters he faced to record his first save of the season. The 34-year-old has been terrific out of the bullpen for the Rays in 2021, owning a 1.30 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, and a 66:9 K: BB across 48 1/3 innings. McHugh has served as an opener and can handle multiple innings if needed but won't be in the mix for saves in the future. Fantasy managers in deep-league formats looking for help with their ratios and strikeouts can add McHugh.
