Colin Rea Likely To Be Bulk Reliever Tuesday
1 year agoThe Milwaukee Brewers recalled right-hander Colin Rea from Triple-A Nashville on Monday, and he's likely to pitch in a bulk-relief role on Tuesday behind starter Trevor Megill as the team faces off with the St. Louis Cardinals. It will be more of a bullpen day for the Brew Crew as they look to get some of their starters some extra rest down the stretch, but Rea figures to be in the game the longest. The 33-year-old has appeared in 23 games (21 starts) for Milwaukee in 2023 and has gone 5-6 with a 4.89 ERA (5.01 FIP), 1.23 WHIP, 35 walks and a career-high 100 strikeouts in 114 innings pitched. Rea last pitched on Sept. 13 against the Miami Marlins and went 4 2/3 frames in a loss.
