Cole Young Showcasing On-Base Skills In Double-A
5 months agoSeattle Mariners middle infield prospect Cole Young has been an on-base machine with Double-A Arkansas. Though his power has fluctuated, he's consistently gotten hits and drawn walks. Through 68 games, he's slashing .265/.359/.394 with 13 doubles, seven home runs, 13 stolen bases, and a 38:47 BB/SO ratio. A left-handed hitter, he's performed much better against right-handed pitching. In 254 plate appearances, he's slashing .273/.364/.421 with 11 doubles, five homers, and a 32:34 BB/SO against righties. Seattle's No. 1 prospect (per MLB.com), Young is expected to make his MLB debut sometime next year.
