Cole Irvin's Friday Start Up In The Air
3 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Cole Irvin (shoulder) felt shoulder soreness and is being evaluated, according to manager Mark Kotsay. Zach Logue is with the team in case the A's need a starter for Friday at the Minnesota Twins. Kotsay said Irvin hasn't been ruled out for his start on Friday, but the team will make a decision on Thursday. Fantasy managers should consider the left-hander to be day-to-day, but make other plans just in case. The 28-year-old has been solid for Oakland in his five starts, posting a 2.93 ERA, a 1.16 WHIP, a 15.9% strikeout rate and a 6.2% walk rate in 27 2/3 innings so far in 2022. Logue, also a left-hander, made his MLB debut this year and has thrown only 1 1/3 relief innings, so he won't be a fantasy option if he makes his first big-league start on Friday.
