Cole Hamels Doesn't Last Long Against Phillies
5 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Cole Hamels lasted only two innings against the team he started his career with on Wednesday. Hamels lasted only two innings, giving up nine hits and eight runs before being pulled in an eventual 11-1 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. That marks two straight starts that didn't go Hamels' way, as he lasted only three innings and gave up four runs against the Cincinnati Reds last Thursday. Much like the Cubs have been all season, Hamels is much better at home than on the road. He has started nine games at Wrigley with a 2.35 ERA and 11 games on the road with a 5.16 ERA. Hamels has been solid overall this season, but you'll want to be a bit more cautious if he is away from Wrigley Field.
