2 years agoMontreal Canadiens winger Cole Caufield had one of his best games of the season Saturday against Philadelphia, contributing with two goals and an assist in a 5-4 shootout win. He notched a power-play in the first period and brought the drama in the third, scoring a game-tying goal with only three seconds left to play. Caufield fired off a game-high six shots on goal in the contest and had four further efforts miss the target in nearly 23 minutes of action. The 21-year-old is developing really nicely for the Canadiens and has picked up 11 goals and eight assists in 18 games this season. He reached his 38th goal in his 95th career game and only three players among those to debut with Montreal in the past 80 years have lit the lamp more prior to their 100th game.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

3 months agoMontreal Canadiens right wing Cole Caufield extended his goal streak to five games on Friday evening with a two-point showing against the Washington Capitals. Caufield would find the back of the net in the second frame on a snap shot. Later in the overtime, he would tack on the primary assist on Nick Suzuki's game-winner. Caufield has now scored at least one goal in each of his previous five games and tallied ten points over his ten games. During this ten-game stretch, he has averaged an impressive 4.25 shots on goal per game and held a +1 rating. Given his current scoring surge, the 24-year-old remains a must-start player in all formats and a top pick in DFS as he looks to stay hot on Saturday evening against the Dallas Stars.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

5 months agoMontreal Canadiens winger Cole Caufield contributed two goals as the team earned a 7-5 victory over Buffalo with a late comeback on Monday. Both goals came on the power play, with Caufield's second tally of the contest ending up as the game-winning goal. Caufield, who finished last month with a four-game goal streak, hadn't yet produced any points in November until Monday. He took over the goal-scoring lead in the league, reaching 12 goals in 16 games. The young winger has put in impressive work in front of the net, but he's had only one assist so far, which may disappoint some fantasy managers. It should also be noted that Caufield's shooting percentage currently sits at a sky-high 29.3, more than double his career average.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

6 months agoMontreal Canadiens right wing Cole Caufield continued his hot start to the season by scoring two goals in their victory over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday evening. Caufield has now scored at least one goal in every game this season and sits with a total four through the first week. His first goal came in the opening frame off a snapshot from the slot off a pass from defenseman Mike Matheson. Later in the third, the 23-year-old increased their lead by finishing a rebound from center Nick Suzuki. Caufield should remain locked into all lineups going forward and a popular pick in DFS given his hot stretch.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

1 year agoMontreal Canadiens winger Cole Caufield scored in a third consecutive game and added an assist as the team took down the Devils 3-2 on the road Wednesday. He set up Juraj Slafkovsky for a first-period goal and played the hero himself late in the third, with Caufield's 14th goal of the season turning out to be the game-winning tally. The young Montreal forward sits among the league leaders in game-winners this season, having produced six such goals. He's had a fine season on the first line, totaling 33 points across 44 games with 158 shots on goal.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
