Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley (illness) sat out Thursday's practice while dealing with an illness. The specifics as to the details of the illness haven't been revealed. Beasley was heavily involved in the Bills' offensive gameplan in Week 1, receiving nine targets, second on the team to only John Brown. He should continue to see high usage going forward and is a worthy player to roster in PPR leagues. The New York Giants placed wide receiver Cole Beasley (quadriceps) on their practice-squad Injured Reserve on Monday and signed receiver Cam Sims to the practice squad in a corresponding move. It means that Beasley won't be eligible to play in the team's first four games of the regular season. Beasley was left off the 53-man roster heading into the start of the 2023 regular season, and he's unlikely to have much of a role in New York's crowded receiver corps if he ever joins the active roster. It remains to be seen how serious the leg injury is. In the team's preseason opener last week, Beasley caught four passes in the first quarter. The Giants sat most of their veterans and starters, including quarterback Daniel Jones, but elected to play Beasley through the first quarter. The 34-year-old was only signed three weeks ago, but is familiar with Brian Daboll's offense from their days together in Buffalo.
