The New York Giants designated wide receiver
Cole Beasley (leg) to return from the practice-squad Injured Reserve on Tuesday ahead of the Week 6 game on Sunday against his former team, the Buffalo Bills. Beasley has missed the first five weeks of the season while on IR. The 34-year-old veteran is back to practice and has been returned to the practice squad, but there's no guarantee he'll be put on the active roster before Sunday's game. Beasley is a long shot to return any fantasy value in 2023 in a crowded Giants receiving corps that also includes
Wan'Dale Robinson,
Darius Slayton, rookie
Jalin Hyatt,
Sterling Shepard,
Isaiah Hodgins and
Parris Campbell.

The New York Giants placed wide receiver
Cole Beasley (quadriceps) on their practice-squad Injured Reserve on Monday and signed receiver
Cam Sims to the practice squad in a corresponding move. It means that Beasley won't be eligible to play in the team's first four games of the regular season. Beasley was left off the 53-man roster heading into the start of the 2023 regular season, and he's unlikely to have much of a role in New York's crowded receiver corps if he ever joins the active roster. To open the year,
Parris Campbell will serve as the team's starting slot receiver, but the G-Men also have second-year wideout
Wan'Dale Robinson.

Cole Beasley (leg) is sitting out of his second straight training camp practice on Wednesday due to a leg injury. It remains to be seen how serious the leg injury is. In the team's preseason opener last week, Beasley caught four passes in the first quarter. The 34-year-old's big workload in the preseason opener could suggest that the Giants want to see Beasley earn a roster spot heading into the 2023 regular season opener. Even if he's able to make the team out of camp, Beasley will be buried in a crowded receiver room behind

Cole Beasley caught all four of his targets for 33 yards in the team's 21-16 preseason loss to the Detroit Lions. The Giants sat most of their veterans and starters, including quarterback
Daniel Jones, but elected to play Beasley through the first quarter. The 34-year-old was only signed three weeks ago, but is familiar with Brian Daboll's offense from their days together in Buffalo. Beasley has 556 catches for 5,744 yards and 34 TDs in his career, but is living in a crowded wide receiver room with fellow slot receivers
