Cody Poteet Has Impressive MLB Debut
3 years agoMiami Marlins starter Cody Poteet made his Major League debut Wednesday and picked up his first career victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The unheralded starter went six strong innings allowing only two runs on a David Peralta RBI double and Sandy Leon solo home run in the Marlins 3-2 victory. Otherwise, Poteet allowed only two additional singles and walked zero, and looked very much like a Major League pitcher. While he certainly does not have a rotation spot locked up, the Marlins have made the most out of their starting pitching in recent years and Poteet might provide fantasy value this season. Slated to face the Dodgers in LA in his next start, Poteet is not worth a roster add just yet, but he is worth keeping an eye on moving forward.
