Cody Allen Blows First Save On Sunday
7 years agoCleveland Indians relief pitcher Cody Allen entered the bottom of the 8th with two on and one out and allowed two hits, two runs, and an intentional walk, but was able to escape the inning with the lead intact. He then came in for the bottom of the 9th and immediately gave up back-to-back doubles to tie the game and was then pulled for Dan Otero to come in and give up the walk off homer to Gleyber Torres, saddling Allen with his first loss of the season. Allen had been off to a great start to the year before allowing two runs in Friday's game and then three runs in Sunday's game. That being said, Cody Allen always has a flare for the dramatic and when all is said and done, he will remain a high end fantasy closer at the end of the year.
