Coby Mayo Struggles Through First Month Of Triple-A
1 year agoBaltimore Orioles prospect Coby Mayo is searching for consistency with the Norfolk Tides. The third baseman mashed his way through Double-A, racking up a 1.027 OPS and 17 home runs in 78 games. Since his promotion, Mayo has struggled with a slash line of .198/.283/.407 with just three long balls in 27 games. The 21-year-old still has 20 HRs on the year while batting .280 over 453 plate appearances. The Orioles have a log jam in the infield, so they can afford to be patient with the young slugger. A call-up to Baltimore doesn't appear likely in 2023, but Mayo remains an elite prospect who could make an impact early in 2024. Dynasty managers should take advantage of a potential buy-low opportunity.
