Coby Mayo Optioned To Triple-A
16 seconds agoBaltimore Orioles third base prospect Coby Mayo was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk. Mayo was competing for a spot on the Opening Day roster but will instead continue his development at the top level of the minor leagues. During camp, Mayo held an underwhelming .190 AVG with a poor 13:2 BB:K. The 23-year-old made his MLB debut last season and posted a .098/.196/.098 line across 17 contests. During this stretch, he tallied just four hits and held a 4:22 BB:K. However, Mayo flashed elite upside at the Triple-A level as he held a .287/.364/.562 slash line with 23 doubles and 22 home runs across 89 contests last season. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his development with Norfolk, as he will likely be in the mix to return to the majors later in the summer.
