Clint Frazier Leading Off, Brett Gardner Sits Again On Thursday
6 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Clint Frazier will hit atop the lineup Thursday against the Seattle Mariners. He will play center field, while Aaron Hicks — who has been swinging a hot bat lately — gets the day off. As expected, veteran outfielder Brett Gardner (knee) will sit again, a move which manager Aaron Boone hopes will help Gardner avoid the disabled list. Rookie Miguel Andujar will serve as the designated hitter designated hitter, Giancarlo Stanton will play left field, Neil Walker will man third base and Austin Romine will catch the excellent Luis Severino in place of Gary Sanchez. The Yankees will go up against strikeout artist James Paxton. Only Walker has ever faced Paxton in his career, so fantasy players who own any of the Yankee heavy hitters should expect a few swings and misses on Thursday.
