After wrapping up a stint with the Single-A Tampa Yankees over the weekend, New York Yankees outfielder Clint Frazier (concussion) is moving closer to the Bronx. On Tuesday, the 23-year-old will report to the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. At that point, the next logical step would be a return to the major league club. Frazier has been out since the spring with a concussion and subsequent symptoms. Prior to his injury, he was forecasted to spend the season in the minors, as Jacoby Ellsbury seemed ahead of him on the depth chart. The latter is out with an injury, however, and appears some time away from returning. As a result, look for Frazier to see time with the major league club, although he'll likely come off the bench with the Yankees so deep at the position.--RDelgado

The Texas Rangers signed free-agent outfielder Clint Frazier and left-hander Danny Duffy to minor-league deals on Friday. Once a top prospect for the Cleveland Guardians, Frazier spent the 2022 season with the Chicago Cubs and hit just .216 with a .653 OPS and no home runs in 19 games. Staying healthy has always been a big issue -- he's never played in more than 69 major-league games in a single season -- and he has a career slash line of .238/.329/.427 with a .756 OPS, 29 home runs and 98 RBI in six big-league seasons. Duffy had a left forearm injury that kept him from pitching in 2022. In his 11 major-league seasons with the Kansas City Royals, he has a 3.95 ERA (4.17 FIP), 1.32 WHIP and 21.1 percent strikeout rate in 234 outings (204 starts). Frazier and Duffy will provide some nice veteran depth if they can stay healthy in 2023.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Chicago Cubs outfielder Clint Frazier (abdomen) underwent successful appendectomy surgery on Friday. The organization has not given a timetable for Frazier's return. Although, the young outfielder is reportedly doing well after the surgery. The expectation that Frazier will miss at least a week or possibly two. Ian Happ will cover left field and bat cleanup versus right-hander Zach Thompson on Saturday. Happ could be a sneaky fantasy option for Saturday's contest.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

Chicago Cubs outfielder Clint Frazier (appendicitis) has been placed on the 10-day injured list. It's uncertain if he's already undergone an appendectomy, but will be sidelined for the next week and a half. Patrick Wisdom will slide over to left field and bat fifth versus lefty Jose Quintana on Friday. Both Wisdom and Ian Happ should see plenty of time in left field over the next week or so.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

Chicago Cubs outfielder Clint Frazier will bat leadoff and serve as the designated hitter for Friday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. The former first round pick has struggled to find his groove in the big leagues. Hopefully, Frazier has found a home on the North Side of Chicago. The 27-year-old slapped a pinch-hit double during the season opener on Thursday. That has earned him a spot at the top of the lineup for Friday's contest. However, he'll face off against two-time All-Star right-hander Brandon Woodruff. This is not exactly a great matchup for the former top prospect.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
