Cleveland Willing To Trade Emmanuel Clase
12 months agoCleveland Guardians relief pitcher Emmanuel Clase is a potential trade candidate this winter, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN.com. The Guardians are willing to move the All-Star closer and there should be no shortage of teams vying for his services. Clase had a bit of a letdown season in 2023, by his lofty standards, as he finished with a 3.22 ERA, 1.156 WHIP, and 64:16 K/BB ratio to go along with 44 saves over 72 2/3 innings. He's still just 25 years old, however, and is widely considered one of the best closers in the game. The dynamic reliever technically doesn't become an unrestricted free agent until 2029 as he's locked in through 2026, at least, with a pair of club options in 2027 and 2028, respectively. He could fetch a very nice return on the trade market but where he ends up getting traded to is anyone's guess.
