Clayton Richard Tagged with Loss in Rough Outing
7 years agoAfter putting up a good performance in his Opening Day start, Padres starter Clayton Richard allowed five runs to the Rockies to earn his first loss of the season. Richard allowed five runs on eight hits and three walks over five innings, although he did record six strikeouts. This performance is close to what owners can expect from him this year — bad ERA with good strikeout numbers. Depending on who he is facing and where he is pitching, Richard can give owners a few good streaming starts, but over the course of the entire season he's not worth keeping full time.
