Clayton Kershaw To Start NLDS Game 2 Against Padres
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw is slated to start Wednesday's Game 2 of the National League Division Series against the Padres. Yu Darvish will oppose him. The 34-year-old veteran was excellent once again this regular season, compiling a 12-3 record with a 2.28 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 27.8% strikeout rate in 22 starts. He only faced the Padres twice this season, but posted a stellar 0.75 ERA over 12 innings pitched. One narrative that may follow Kershaw is his relatively weaker career playoff numbers, as he has a pedestrian 4.19 ERA over 189 career postseason innings. The other may be his health, as he has missed time with back injuries over the past several seasons. Despite this, Kershaw has the potential to help the Dodgers make a deep playoff push.
