Clayton Kershaw Throws Off Mound On Tuesday
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw (elbow) completed a 20-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday. The step represented Kershaw's first time throwing off a mound since being shut down after 45 pitches during a sim game on July 27. Although a positive development, the three-time Cy Young winner might be running out of time to return as a full-time starter. Manager Dave Roberts was noncommittal on the left-hander's role upon his return, saying "we'll just see what role makes sense." The 33-year-old is 9-7 with a 3.39 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and 127 strikeouts across 106 1/3 innings pitched. While a late September return is likely, fantasy managers will be hard-pressed to squeeze worthwhile production out of Kershaw to justify holding him.
