Clayton Kershaw Strikes Out Nine In Losing Effort
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw allowed three runs on five hits across 6 1/3 innings of work during Monday's 7-2 loss to the San Diego Padres. He struck out nine batters without issuing a walk. Kershaw only gave up two hits through his first five innings, before Trent Grisham took him deep in the sixth to end the shutout bid. Kershaw now owns a 5-2 record on the season to go along with a 2.28 ERA, 0.78 WHIP, and 53/8 K/BB rate. Despite the blip on the radar, Kershaw has been one of the best pitchers in baseball throughout 2020. He will take on the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field his next time out.
