Clay Holmes Takes Fourth Loss Sunday
1 year agoNew York Yankees closer Clay Holmes took the loss Sunday against the Boston Red Sox, allowing a run on two hits and a walk in a 6-5 defeat. Holmes entered in the ninth inning of a tie game and let the game-winning run score on a double by Justin Turner. He now has losses in two of his last three appearances after a dominant three-month stretch where he only allowed three earned runs. He still holds a stellar 2.87 ERA and 1.19 WHIP, and should remain the go-to guy for the Yanks. Unfortunately for his fantasy managers, the Yankees have been brutal recently and may not see a ton of save opportunities down the stretch.
