Clay Holmes Records Second Save In 2024
8 months agoNew York Yankees right-hander Clay Holmes tossed a scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Houston Astros. He entered the game in the ninth inning to protect a two-run lead. The 31-year-old needed 11 pitches to make quick work of the Astros en route to his second save of the season. He is 2-for-2 in save chances while posting a 1.50 WHIP over two scoreless innings in 2024. Holmes is the Yankee's primary closer after notching 20-plus save seasons in the previous two years. Fantasy managers should continue to start Holmes in all league formats, as the Yankees right-hander will rack up 20 or more saves for a third straight year.
