Clay Holmes Grabs Save No. 14 On Wednesday
1 year agoNew York Yankees reliever Clay Holmes completed his 14th save of the season on Wednesday when his team defeated the New York Mets 3-1. He tossed one inning of work, allowing no baserunners and striking out one. Holmes has been fantastic this year, posting a 2.21 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 29.9% strikeout rate over 40 2/3 innings. Though he briefly lost the closer role in May to fellow righty Michael King, the 30-year-old has registered nine saves since the beginning of June, and fantasy managers should be rostering him in all formats.
