Ottawa Senators forward Claude Giroux (rest) will not be in action on Tuesday against the Chicago Blackhawks. The veteran star has been ever-present for the Senators this season, appearing in all 80 games, but he will sit out Tuesday's contest for rest purposes. While Giroux's best days may be behind him, he has still put together a 50-point campaign, registering 15 goals and 35 assists. David Perron (rest) and Ridly Greig (rest) are slated to return on Tuesday and could both take on top-six roles. This would enhance their fantasy value in a favorable matchup against the NHL's second-worst defense.

Ottawa Senators forward Claude Giroux kept his hot scoring run going with two goals in Sunday's 5-4 loss to Colorado. Giroux was a man on a mission all night, producing a game-high seven shots on goal, and he was finally rewarded for his efforts in the closing stages of the game. The veteran was kept off the score sheet in the first couple of games of the season, but he has put together a six-game point streak with five goals and four assists since then. Giroux has only had two longer point streaks since 2020-21.

Ottawa Senators forward Claude Giroux (personal) will play in Thursday's curtain-raiser against Florida. The veteran has missed some practice time this week due to the birth of his third son. Giroux will slot into the first line and is set to skate with the second power-play unit. He was limited to only one point in four meetings with his former team last season, and this is definitely a difficult challenge for Giroux & Co. However, the building in Ottawa should be buzzing with excitement, and the Panthers were leaky at the back in their season opener against Boston on Tuesday, allowing four goals.

Ottawa Senators forward Claude Giroux produced a three-assist effort in Tuesday's 7-4 loss to the Avalanche to extend his point streak to four games. He posted a power-play assist in the first period and two assists in even-strength situations during the second. Giroux is now only two helpers short of becoming the sixth active player with 700 career assists. He's helped to set up 25 goals this season while lighting the lamp himself 13 times in 39 games. It's been a prolific season for the veteran, even with Ottawa struggling as a team.
