Clarke Schmidt Progressing Well In Rehab
4 years agoNew York Yankees pitcher Clarke Schmidt (elbow) is reportedly progressing well in his recovery from an elbow injury. Schmidt suffered a flexor tendon strain in his elbow but looks "fantastic" and could help the team at the big-league level in 2021, per Yankees Director of Player Development Kevin Reese. Schmidt had a short but rough stint in 2020 but impressed at the minor-league level in 2019, pitching to a 3.47 ERA in 90 2/3 innings with a 102-28 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He could be a candidate for spot starts at some point for the Yankees.
