C.J. McCollum Leads Portland In Scoring Wednesday Night
4 years agoPortland Trail Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum scored a game-high 23 points in Wednesday's 120-100 loss to the Jazz, going 7-for-19 from the field and 3-for-8 from downtown. He added four rebounds and three steals while shooting a perfect 6-for-6 at the line. The Portland starters had a miserable night in general, with Damian Lillard finishing on nine points and Jusuf Nurkic starting the season with a poor 13-3-3 line. Carmelo Anthony, who had 15 points in 24 minutes off the bench, ended up as the second-best scorer behind McCollum. The Blazers team will be looking to bounce back in a matchup against Houston. The Rockets team seems to be in turmoil at the moment, so the likes of Lillard should do much better on Saturday while we can expect another 20-plus point performance from McCollum.
