Christopher Bell Moves Onto The Round of 8
1 month agoJoe Gibbs Racing driver Christopher Bell placed second during Sunday's Bank of America ROVAL 400 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval Course. Beginning the race from the 12th position, Bell quickly showcased that he had one of the best cars in the field that could compete for a top position. In the first stage, although Bell rose through the field to make it to the Top 5, he decided to pit right before the end of the first stage and forgo collecting stage points, placing outside of the Top 10 during the stage break. The second stage was much the same for the No. 20 Toyota driver as Bell rose through the field again into the Top 5 before pitting at the end of the second stage, placing outside of the Top 10 and missing out on stage points again. In the final stage, Bell had one of the fastest cars in the field and was the only driver to keep pace with the dominant driver of the day, Kyle Larson. After avoiding trouble and trying his best to catch Larson, Bell would be credited with the best result of his career at the Roval since his 2022 win at the site. Bell advanced to Round 8 for the 2024 Cup Series playoffs, and as the Cup Series heads to Las Vegas, Bell could be one to watch as he has four top-10 finishes at the site, including three of the last five Cup events.
