Christopher Bell Starting In The Top Five
2 years agoChristopher Bell started out in the mid-20s in practice but saw his car come to him as he put down more laps, finishing fifth overall on the 20-lap average. He followed that up with a strong qualifying lap, landing him fifth on the starting grid. Over seven races on short flat tracks last year, Bell took his No. 20 Toyota to victory lane twice and was the runner-up another time. Unfortunately for Bell, those tracks were not Phoenix, where he finished 26th in the spring race and improved in the championship race to finish 10th. Bell has a tough task with the other drivers around him, but look for his experience on similar tracks to be one factor that could land him another top finish here.
